Changing Lives Through Music—and Being Changed in Return

When I joined the Board of Guitars Over Guns, I did it because I believed I had something to contribute.

What I didn't expect was how much I would receive in return.

Volunteering has reminded me that some of the most meaningful experiences in life come not from asking, "What's in it for me?" but from asking, "How can I help?"

Along the way, I've gained new friendships, fresh perspectives, a deeper connection to my community, and the privilege of seeing firsthand the impact that committed people can make when they come together around a shared purpose. Plus being around music always makes me feel better!

Most of all, it's incredibly fulfilling to know that the time, energy, and resources we invest help young people in Miami, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, discover confidence, creativity, and possibility through music education and mentorship.

I'm honored to serve as Chair of this year's Guitars Over Guns Gala and excited for what promises to be a memorable evening in support of an extraordinary organization.
